ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines—Two of the three inmates, who escaped from jail in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay on Monday were recaptured by police on Tuesday, a police official said.
Chief Supt. Elpidio De Asis, director of the police in Western Mindanao, said Rodelio Besa Jr., who was charged with illegal possession of firearms and homicide suspect Mauricio Aligado were recaptured around 7 p.m. Monday, nearly 12 hours after they escaped.
Only Rokong Badan, a murder suspect, remains at large, he said.
De Asis also said an investigation of the jail guards on duty at the time of the escape, was being conducted.
