MANILA, Philippines – The camp of Chief Justice Renato Corona will present five witnesses when the impeachment trial resumes this Monday.

Corona’s lawyer Ramon Esguerra said the five were Manila Mayor Lito Atienza, Amelia Rivera , Noel Kintanar, Efleda Catsro and a certain Atty. Cadangen.

Esguerra said all five witnesses will testify on the alleged properties of Corona, which falls under Article 2 of the impeachment complaint pertaining to his alleged failure to disclose to public his statement of assets , liabilities and net worth (SALN)

Atienza was already presented by the defense team before the Senate, sitting as an impeachment court, in connection with the sale of a property in Manila owned by the family of Corona’s wife, Cristina.

Rivera’s name on the other hand was mentioned in the trial as the alleged owner of a property in Ayala, which is being linked to the Coronas.

Esguerra said Kintanar will testify in connection of another property in Taguig City while he identified Castro as Manila market administrator and Cadangen as the law division chief of the Bureau of Internal Revenue.

The trial will resume at 2:00 in the afternoon this Monday.
