MANILA, Philippines — Police are eyeing several “persons of interest” possibly linked to the death of a barangay councilor and local dentist, who was found dead with multiple stab wounds in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
Police Captain Ann Michelle Selda of the Oriental Mindoro Police Provincial Office did not reveal how many these individuals are or their identities since investigations are still ongoing.

“Ongoing po ang investigation, but the investigators have persons of interest. However, they are still gathering strong pieces of evidence,” Selda told INQUIRER.net in a Viber message on Tuesday.
Last Sunday, the dead body of 63-year-old victim Dr. Augustine Bolor Jr. was discovered by his sister Cristeta Magundayao around 8:30 a.m. inside his dental clinic in Barangay San Vicente Central.
Citing investigators, Selda said the assailants’ motive could be robbery-related.
Aside from serving as barangay councilor, previous reports also showed that Bolor tried to run in the 2010 elections but was later disqualified and was declared a “nuisance candidate” by the Commission on Elections.
