President not misinformed on PUV modernization drive – OTC

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. was not misinformed of the situation on the implementation of the public utility vehicle modernization program, Office of Transportation Cooperatives (OTC) Chairman Jesus Ortega said on Monday. 

In a Palace briefing, Ortega was asked about rumors that Marcos was not told of the consequences of the implementation.

“Iyong tungkol po na misleading or anything negative, wala po, hindi po iyon nangyari and alam na alam po ng Pangulo ang tungkol sa programa,” said Ortega.

According to Ortega, Marcos was also firm that help should be extended to those adversely affected by the program.

“Noong umupo kami sa harap ng Pangulo, kitang-kita po namin sa kanyang demeanor, sa kaniyang mata, the confidence tungkol sa programa. He knows the numbers. He knows about the program. And he was very confident in saying, ‘hindi na tayo mag-i-extend’,” said Ortega.
