Patriots nip Slingers
THE AIRASIA Philippine Patriots gained some steam with the playoffs nearing on the horizon as they pulled off a 90-84 come-from-behind win over the Singapore slingers in the Asean Basketball League last Saturday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Anthony Johnson helped bail out the Patriots as he scored 20 points in the payoff period including a three-point play with seven minutes remaining that gave them a 67-66 lead.
That play breathed new life into the struggling Patriots as it sparked them to a 14-3 run that virtually won the game. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
