USC tankers triumph

UNIVERSITY of San Carlos (USC) tankers Jesse Arriola Jr. and Karmel Alyssa Ocampo came out on top in last Saturday’s Oceanman at the Portofino Beach Resort in Mactan Island.

Arriola overcame a lackluster performance in his previous competitions by conquering the four loops of 200-meter swim and 400m run in 15 minutes and 48 seconds for the first place in the men’s side.

Ocampo, on the other hand, clocked 19:30 for the first place in the distaff side.

Trailing Arriola at second place was Ian Gerard Rusiana of the Shangri-La Hotel while Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu’s (SHS-AdC) Andre Pacheco completed the overall male top 3.

FEATURED STORIES

Second and third placers in the distaff side were Precious Ginn Lopena of the University of Bohol (UB) and another USC tanker Bianca Marie Diaz.

The 19-under male category was dominated by Magis Eagles tankers. First place went to Edric Justyn Lim, Joseph Christian Chua finished second and Angelo Dizon was at third.

The U19 female title was won by Ana Patricia Loren of USC.

Top 3 finishers in the 11-12 years old male were Johann Matthew Tubesa of SHS-AdC, Jason Ginn Lopena of UB and Paolo Dizon also of SHS-AdC.

The top 3 places in the 13-14 years old male were SHS-AdC’s Jezreel Tan and UB’s Donald Jack Gibb and Jason Lorenz Lopena.

The 30-39 years old title went to Junggie Canedo while the 40-49 title was won by Trifon Tan. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
