MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.1 earthquake hit the province of Biliran early Saturday night, the state seismology bureau said.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the epicenter of the tectonic earthquake was west of Kawayan, Biliran.

It had a depth of focus of eight kilometers.
The Phivolcs also said that the following instrumental intensities were felt in the following places:
Intensity III
- Biliran- Kawayan
- Leyte- Villaba
Intensity II
- Biliran- Maripipi
- Samar- City of Catbalogan
Intensity I
- Leyte- Ormoc City and Leyte
No damages or aftershocks were to be expected after the earthquake, the Phivolcs added.
