MANILA, Philippines — Attributing a miracle to the Black Nazarene, a septuagenarian said she has been a devotee “since birth” and remains one for life.

“Since birth, I never let go of my faith.”
She said her four children managed to finish their education because of her devotion despite losing their father at an early age.
She also recalled that she was once crippled by a stroke and diabetes, but eventually managed to take a few steps on her own.
“This is a big miracle for me. Before I could not walk anymore, but because of my faith that He will cure me, I was able to walk for a bit.”
She, however, still uses a wheelchair during long trips, aqssisted by her children.
Despite her condition, Rivera still witnessed this year’s traslacion to mark the Feast of the Black Nazarene, attended by an estimated 6.5 million devotees.
