POLICEMEN who secured venues for the annual Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) event in Cebu City are still waiting to be receive their daily P300 meal and fare allowances for the week-long event.
Ryan Aznar, security coordinator, said they will release more than P200,000 for the purpose.
He told Cebu Daily News that the check lacks one signature from the PRISAA committee.
If they cannot release the entire amount, Aznar said they can initially encash half of the funds allocated for this purpose.
At least five Cebu City policemen raised the problem of late payment.
Each policeman will be paid P2,100 for one week’s duty of securing the venue and billeting areas.
“We’re not after the allowance because securing the venue is our job. We’re only asking for what’s promised to us,” said one policeman who requested anonymity said.
Aznar, who was in Manila, said he is ready to explain to policemen about the delay in the release of funds. Correspondent Chito Aragon
