Dizon Farms owner dies in Davao del Sur road mishap

DAVAO CITY — A prominent Davao businessman died in a road accident along the Bansalan-Balutakay route in Davao del Sur Sunday morning.

Philip “Sonny” Dizon, 69, owner of the two-hectare Davao Crocodile Park here and the Mt. Apo Civet Coffee in Davao del Sur, was riding his black Can-Am three-wheel when he lost control of the vehicle after he swerved to the opposite lane.

He was overturned and smashed into the concrete lane, according to the report by the Bansalan municipal police.

Rescuers rushed him to Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital in Digos City, where he succumbed to severe injuries.

Dizon also owned the Dizon Farms and the Mt. Apo Highland Resort in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.

He was the president of the American Chamber of Commerce – Mindanao (AmChamMindanao).

He was survived by his wife Jackie Garcia and children, Bianca, Rosanna and Marco.
