Abante reporter Rose Miranda; 39

Rose Miranda, Malacañang reporter for Abante, died Saturday at her home in Bacoor, Cavite. She was 39.

Miranda, a member of the Malacañang Press Corps (MPC), died after a year-long battle with breast cancer. She is survived by her parents Melencio and Mercedes and sisters Maricel and Grace.

Her remains lie in the family residence at Barangay Ligas, Bacoor. Interment will be on May 12 at Silangan Cemetery.

Miranda was born in Bacoor on December 7, 1973. She earned a journalism degree from the Lyceum of the Philippines University in 1994.

She began her career nearly two decades ago, covering beats such as the Makati police, defense and recently Malacañang.  She served as MPC treasurer from 2006 to 2010 and secretary from 2010 to 2011.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011.
