MANILA, Philippines — A total of P55.6 million was released to build a school building at Mindanao State University (MSU) in Marawi City.

Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman approved the Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) for the three-story student center.

“Tulad po ng lagi kong sinasabi (like I always say), our youth are the torchbearers of our future.” Pangandaman said in a statement on Thursday.

“That is why it’s important that we support them by providing the necessary equipment and facilities,” she noted.

“Yan din po ang marching order ng ating Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. dahil alam niya ang kahalagahan ng edukasyon. So, on our part po, we will continue to help gear up the youth,” she added.

(That is also the marching order of our President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. because he knows how important education is.)

The new building will have an allocated area of 1,850 square meters.

It will be used for student-related programs and university activities.

The SARO comes a month after an explosion rocked MSU Marawi.
