Only 19 LGUS fully compliant with e-business one-stop shop order

Arta to gov't agencies: Delayed response to business queries is violation of law

MANILA, Philippines — Only 19 local government units out of 1,637 fully complied with the Electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBOSS) program which is aimed at automating and ease the process of securing business permits.  

According to the  Anti-Red Tape Authority (Arta) Director General Ernesto V. Perez, under the eBOSS, business permits could be secured in 20 minutes to an hour.

At sang-ayon po sa data, out of 1,637 local government units – 630 LGUs ang nag-report na automated na sila. Pero sang-ayon po sa validation ng Compliance Monitoring and Evaluation Office ng ating Anti-Red Tape Authority, 19 pa lang po ang fully compliant,” said Perez in the Bagong Pilipinas public briefing.

(Based on data, out of  1,637 local government units, 630 LGUs reported that they were automated. But upon the validation of the  Compliance Monitoring and Evaluation Office ng of the Anti-Red Tape Authority, only 19 are fully compliant.) 

LGU’s were ordered to implement the eBOSS in 2021 in a joint memorandum between Arta,  the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Information and Communications (DICT) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Despite the low number of fully compliant LGUs, Perez called the eBOSS program a success.

“Ang Anti-Red Tape Authority po, kasama natin iyong mga agencies like iyong DICT, DILG, Department of Finance, Department of Budget ay lalo pa po nating paigtingin na i-implement iyong mga successful programs and initiatives ng Anti-Red Tape Authority. Kabilang po dito iyong highly successful implementation ng Electronic Business One-Stop Shop,” said Perez. 

(The Anti-Red Tape Authority, together with agencies like the DICT, DILG, Department of Finance, Department of Budget will intensify the implementation of successful programs of the  Anti-Red Tape Authority. This includes the highly successful implementation ng Electronic Business One-Stop Shop.)
