According to the DSWD, a GL is provided to a person in crisis situation to ensure that a service provider, such as a hospital, will be paid by the DSWD for services incurred by the beneficiary.
The amount provided via GLs for individuals can vary from P10,000 to P150,000.
“Pinaaalam ng DSWD ang muling pagbibigay ng mga GL sa ilalim ng Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) simula ngayong araw ng Martes, Enero 2, 2024,” the agency said in a post on X.
(The DSWD is resuming the issuance of GLs under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) starting today, Tuesday, January 2, 2024.)
The DSWD also announced that it will suspend its outright cash assistance, which is part of AICS, while it is still waiting for its funds under the General Appropriations Act.
“Samantala, ang outright cash assistance naman ay pansamantalang sinususpinde base sa alituntunin ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) na naaayon sa umiiral na batas,” DSWD’s post continued.
(Meanwhile, outright cash assistance issuspended based on the guidelines of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) in accordance with existing laws.)
The issuance of GLs was halted on December 7 last year to accommodate DSWD’s yearly liquidation activities and to finalize payments to service providers who had already helped beneficiaries.
