Colorum PUV operators fined P20.8 M in December 2023 – DOTr
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Tuesday reported the collection of around P20.8 million in penalties from unregistered (colorum) public utility vehicles (PUVs) in December last year.
According to the DOTr, its anti-colorum campaign imposed fines of P200,000 per unregistered van and P1,000,000 per unregistered bus.
“The recent anti-colorum campaign targeted unauthorized PUVs with the sole purpose of safeguarding the welfare of road users,” the agency said in a post on social media.
The DOTr likewise noted that it is expecting to bust more illegal and unregistered PUVs in its intensified campaign.
