LUCENA CITY – Two motorcycle riders died while two others were injured in two separate road accidents in Quezon and Batangas on Sunday and Monday (December 31 and January 1).
Philippine National Police Region 4A said the mishap in Quezon happened along Maharlika Highway in Barangay Panikihan, Gumaca at 12:10 a.m. on Monday.
Motorcycle driver alias “Danilo” and his backrider, alias “Ram,” were traveling when their vehicle collided with another oncoming motorcycle driven by alias “Joshua.”
The three persons sustained grave injuries and were rushed to the hospital.

Backrider “Ram” died while undergoing treatment.
In Batangas, the motorcycle of alias “Kimbert” collided with a car driven by “Ariel” in Barangay Mataas na Lupa, San Pascual at 10:20 p.m. on Sunday.
Kimbert was thrown off the vehicle and he landed on the pavement.
He suffered serious injuries and died while being taken to a hospital.
Police said the car of Ariel suddenly swerved to the left, which resulted in the collision.
The report added motorcyclist Kimbert was allegedly drunk when the incident happened.
