Speaker thanks Filipinos for commitment: 2023 a milestone for PH

MANILA, Philippines — House Speaker Martin Romualdez, on New Year’s Eve, called 2023 a milestone for the Philippines.

In his New Year message, Romualdez said that he was filled with gratitude and hope.

“This year has been a milestone, a testament to our shared dedication to progress, unity, and service. The achievements we have realized together are indeed remarkable. The commitment and hard work of each of you, as members of our community, have been pivotal in the passage of critical bills, measures, and resolutions addressing the varied needs of our nation,” said Romualdez.

The House Speaker extended his thanks to Filipinos, saying that collective efforts have led to legislative success.

“Your unwavering efforts have not only shaped policy but also strengthened our democracy. Faced with challenges, you have stood resolute in your commitment to our country and our people,” said Romualdez.

According to Romualdez, the year ahead may be filled with challenges, but they are opportunities to grow.

“The challenges ahead are opportunities for us to innovate, collaborate, and build a nation that echoes the dreams and aspirations of every Filipino. Together, let’s continue to work towards a legislative agenda that responds to the pressing needs of our times,” said Romualdez.
