British drowns at Nasugbu resort in Batangas

A 61-year-old British national was found drowned in the sea off Nasugbu town in Batangas province on Saturday, Dec. 30, police said.

LUCENA CITY — A 61-year-old British national was found drowned in the sea off Nasugbu town in Batangas province on Saturday, Dec. 30, police said.

The Region 4A police said in a report Sunday, Dec. 31, that the victim, identified only as alias “Clive”, was spotted by a villager floating face down in the seawater fronting a beach resort in Barangay (village) Natipuan around 7 p.m.

He was taken to a local hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The police said the victim was under the influence of liquor.

The police will subject his body to an autopsy to determine the cause of his death.

The report stated that the victim was a native of England and residing in a townhouse in San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan but did not specify if he was a tourist or if he had companions at the resort.
