Suspected Abu Sayyaf member killed in Basilan fire fight

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A suspected Abu Sayyaf member was gunned down by government security forces in a fire fight in Lantawan, Basilan at around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a military report said.

The clash erupted when soldiers who were  conducting an operation against the Abu Sayyaf, surprised the alleged terrorist group who were holding several local people captive in Bulan-bulan village, the Western Mindanao Command said.
