Remulla on ICU admission: ‘Kalokohan’

MANILA, Philippines – “Kalokohan,”(nonesense) was how Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla described the rumors that he was hospitalized and admitted to  the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

“Wala yun. Show me a picture. If they say that I am in the ICU, there has to be a picture of me in the ICU. Wala eh. Kalokohan yan,” Remulla told reporters Friday.

(That’s nothing. Show me a picture. If they say that I am in the ICU, there has to be a picture of me in the ICU. None at all. That’s nonsense.)

Remulla said the rumor is a political propaganda “of some desperate people.”

This is the first time Remulla appeared in public after almost three weeks.

Remulla admitted he had to take a step back after feeling he was not making the right progress in recovery.

Remulla had a heart bypass procedure last June. He reported back to work after almost eight weeks.

“Four months after the heart bypass operation, I wanted to see my doctor because I felt I was not making the right progress in the recovery,” Remulla said.

“I’m 62 years old. I’m not a spring chicken, and I have to be careful,” he added.

While he said there are still things that he needs to work on in his physical health, Remulla said, “My heart is good.”
