PUV consolidation deadline stays — DOTr
MANILA, Philippines — Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista on Thursday stressed that the deadline for the consolidation of public utility vehicles (PUV) stays.
In a brief statement, Bautista thanked operators and drivers who embraced the PUV modernization program.
“The PUV consolidation deadline stays. This initiative has gained the support of majority of our PUV operators as around 70 percent of them have already taken part in the consolidation process,” said Bautista.
According to Bautista, the government remains committed to easing the plight of commuters by creating safer means of public transportation.
“Rest assured that your government is committed to making this program work as this aligns with goal of the Marcos administration on easing the plight of commuters by ensuring cleaner and safer means of public transportation for the riding public,” said Bautista.

Transport group Manibela is already preparing a transport strike on the deadline.
