Marine corps official named as new chief of JTF-NCR

MANILA, Philippines — Brig. Gen. Jimmy Larida, director of the Philippine Marine Corps’ exercise directorate headquarters, has been named the new commander of the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region (JTF-NCR).

A change of command ceremony was led by vice chief-of-staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Lt. Gen. Arthur Cordura of the Philippine Air Force, at the JTF-NCR Multipurpose Hall in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

Larida will take over the position of Brig. Gen. Alexei Musñgi, the AFP said in a statement.

Cordura commended both officials and highlighted the importance of the JTF-NCR’s role in “conducting security and stability operations, supporting the Philippine National Police, and coordinating with other agencies in humanitarian assistance and disaster response.”
