/ 07:28 AM May 05, 2012

SHERIFF El Cid Caballes said he wasn’t looking forward to Monday. As if wishing away his difficult task, he said a demolition was not clear.

“Not sure. Probably, di na madayon. Mag-agad lang ko sa taas kay naa may motion. (Probably, the demolition won’t happen. I’ll just wait for the court to render a ruling since a pleading was filed),” Caballes said.

The sheriff said he received a hostile text message Wednesday past 11 p.m.

Caballes said he was just carrying out the court’s orders.

“Let’s just be careful. Let’s pray so nothing bad will happen,” he told reporters.

He said the decision is up to the court, and that any sheriff can implement the order, not just him.’

Cebu Civice Vice Mayor Joy Augustus Young and former Rep. Raul del Mar of Cebu City’s north district were at the hearing yesterday. They later tried to approach the judge in his chambers but were rebuffed.

Lawyer Chevin Vasquez, RTC clerk of court of Branch 9, said Judge Soliver Peras, who saw the two political figures, admonished the stenographer not to allow them in.

“Nag-unsa man na sila diri? Ayaw pasudla. (What are they doing here? Don’t allow them to enter my chamber),” said the judge.

A stenographer Anifeth Dandan confirmed the exchange.

Young and Del Mar left the staff office and decided to to the courtroom where other litigants were waiting.
