MANILA, Philippines — Cloud clusters may bring isolated rain showers and thunderstorms over parts of Luzon and Mindanao on Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
According to the state weather bureau, the rain brought by cloud clusters are not expected to last for the entire day.
“As early as this morning, mayroon po tayong namamataan na mga cloud clusters o mga pulu-pulong kaulapan na maaaring magdala ng mga isolated rain showers and thunderstorms sa may bahagi ng Zamboanga Peninsula, gayon din sa ilang bahagi ng Davao region, Soccsksargen, at sa may Bicol region,” said Pagasa weather specialist Patrick del Mundo.
(As early as this morning, we have observed cloud clusters that may bring isolated rain showers and thunderstorms to some parts of the Zamboanga Peninsula, as well as some parts of the Davao region, Soccsksargen, and the Bicol region.)
No low pressure area is being monitored, and the chances of developing a cyclone within the next three days remain low, del Mundo added.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, continues to prevail over Luzon while easterlies are still affecting eastern Visayas.
Pagasa said that the Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Aurora, and Quezon may expect overcast skies with rains due to amihan.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, are forecast to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the same weather system.
