DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindanao del Norte — More than P5 million worth of suspected shabu were confiscated from eight persons during separate anti-drug operations on Christmas Day in this town and in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.
Lieutenant Colonel Ismael Madin, Datu Odin Sinsuat police chief, said two women were arrested after selling meth to police undercover agents during a buy-bust operation at 730 p.m. on Christmas Day in Barangay Poblacion Dalican.
Madin identified the suspects as Nesrin Mamalinta Adas, 26, a resident of Dalican, and Bai Almira Musa, 30, of Barangay Mapayag, Datu Anggal Midtimbang, Maguindanao del Sur.
Police seized three huge sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride worth about P1,020,000 and the marked money composed of fake P1,000 bills.
The suspects are now jailed at Datu Odin Sinsuat municipal police station’s detention facility while charges against them are being prepared.
Their arrest came hours after police in Marawi City arrested six persons and seized from them more than P4 million worth of shabu.
Brigadier General Allan Nobleza, Bangsamoro region police director, said the operating units seized about 600 grams of shabu from the suspects who are now detained at the Marawi City lock-up cell.
“I commend our Bangsamoro police personnel in these successful operations in Maguindanao del Norte and Marawi. Even during the holidays, our police continue its law enforcement operation,” Nobleza said.
