MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte on Tuesday warned the public against scammers using her name to solicit money for her campaign funds.

According to Duterte, some scammers even introduce themselves as employees of the Bureau of Customs or other government agencies.

(Their intention is to get money from you, allegedly for a campaign fund. This is a scam.)

(I have not authorized anyone to collect money for politics or any kind of activity or purpose.)

She then urged the public to report any information about such ploys to authorities.

Duterte made the pronouncement just a few days after the Office of the Vice President warned the public against a fake social media post circulating online using her name and photo.

The post lured unsuspecting individuals into clicking a dubious link by featuring Duterte offering to provide free cash and groceries.
