MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte on Sunday emphasized the spirit of love on Christmas Eve, celebrating familial relationships, those in need, and resilient Filipinos.
According to Duterte in her Christmas message, the holiday serves as a reminder of our triumphs and a celebration of our faith and gratitude to God.
“Let’s remember our families and the importance of our love for one another — which is our gift to ourselves, to our communities, and to our nation,” said Duterte.
“Families united by love, hope, and faith are the support of our nation,” she added.
Duterte then reminded the public to assist and empathize with those who are struggling, hungry, sick, and fighting for their lives.
“This Christmas, let’s express gratitude to our fellow countrymen who have shown resilience, integrity, compassion, and love for our nation,” said Duterte.
