THE Cebu Queen City United Football Club (CQCU FC) needs to win its match against Team Socceroo FC today at the Turf at Bonifacio Global City if it wants to stay at the third place in standings of the United Football League Second Division Tournament.
CQCU FC only has a two-point advantage over Agila FC, which will be idle this weekend as its next match against Lions Meltique Beef FC will still be on May 9.
CQCU FC currently stays at third place with 29 points equivalent to a win-draw-loss record of 9-2-3, while Agila FC is close at fourth with 27 points and a record of 9-0-5.
CQCU FC head coach Mario Ceniza said he is hoping that the diamond-midfield game-plan will once again work for them.
Ceniza said that they have modified their midfield from flat to diamond depending on the availability of players.
They started using the modification in their match last weekend, wherein they routed the Lions Meltique Beef FC, 7-0.
Aside from the new game plan, CQCU will also bank on its 6-1 victory against Team Socceroo last March 4. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
