Country’s top baseball players converge for Fil-Am Friendship Day

THE BEST and the brightest stars in Philippine baseball will converge this weekend as they play in the Pepsi Fil-American Friendship Day this Sunday at the Alabang Country Club in Muntinlupa City.

Baseball Philippines and the Community Sports Inc. are putting up the event as part of the country’s celebration of the Fil-Am Day with the rosters of the teams competing in the All-Star Game still being finalized.

US Ambassador Harry K. Thomas Jr. will be the guest of honor in the event.

Meanwhile, Baseball Philippines will also recognize all the Philippine teams vying in the Regional and World Series tournaments such as the International Baseball Federation (IBAF), Little League and Pony Baseball.

An elimination round game in the Baseball Philippine Series 8 will also be held before the All-Star Game with the Dumaguete Uni-bikers taking on the Taguig Patriots in a crucial match for placing in the semifinal round. The Patriots need a win to clinch the No. 3 seat./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
