VP Sara Duterte to discharge execom chair duties from Davao

MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte on Saturday said that she discharged her duties as Chairperson of the Executive Committee meetings in Davao City while President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is in Tokyo.

Duterte will serve as the Philippines’ caretaker while Marcos is in Japan for the 50th Commemorative Asean-Japan Friendship and Cooperation Summit.

“The Vice President will discharge her duties and will preside as Chairperson of the Executive Committee meetings in Davao City during the official travel abroad of President Marcos from December 15 to 18,” Duterte said in a statement on her Facebook page.

According to Duterte, she will hold office in the Department of Education National Educators’ Academy of the Philippines Davao and Office of the Vice President Davao Satellite office.

Marcos is in Tokyo from December 15 to 18.
