The Philippines has voted in favor of a United Nations (UN) resolution demanding an urgent humanitarian ceasefire and unconditional release of all hostages in Gaza.
The United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday afternoon met in an emergency special session to deliberate upon a pivotal measure that specifically demands the following:
- Immediate humanitarian ceasefire [between Israel and Hamas]
- Compliance of all parties with their obligations under international law
- Unconditional release of all hostages, as well as ensuring humanitarian access [in Gaza]

MMDA not lifting the coding scheme during the 2-day transport strike
Amid a looming two-day transport strike nationwide, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will not suspend the number coding scheme from December 14 to 15 (Thursday and Friday).
“Kapag nag-suspend tayo, sa ngayon pa lang po, mabigat ang daloy ng traffic,” said MMDA acting chair Don Artes made the assessment in a press conference on Wednesday.
SWS: 48% of Filipinos think quality of life will improve next year
The Social Weather Stations (SWS) said on Tuesday that majority of adult Filipinos think that quality of life will improve in the next 12 months.
According to its survey from September 28 to October 1, there are 48 percent of adult Filipinos who think that quality of life will improve in the next 12 months, which the SWS termed as “optimists.”

Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) host and former undersecretary Lorraine Badoy has maintained that their detention at the House of Representatives complex was both arbitrary and illegal, as lawmakers supposedly abused their discretion.
During Wednesday’s episode of Laban Kasama ng Bayan — Badoy’s program which gained controversy for allegedly being used to spew lies and attacks — the former undersecretary also said it is clear that lawmakers released them from detention not out of pure intentions.
Influencer Jam Magno turns self in on psychological violence, posts bail — Butuan police
Social media personality and a known supporter of former President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration, Jessica Ann “Jam” Magno, has surrendered herself to authorities in Butuan City, a police official revealed on Wednesday.
Captain Charles Evan Gatchalian, chief of Butuan City Police Station 4, said Magno turned herself in on Tuesday morning after an arrest warrant for psychological violence was issued by Presiding Judge Ali Joseph Ryan Chiong Lloren of Misamis Oriental Regional Trial Court, Branch 37.
