MANILA, Philippines — Heavy traffic is expected along Legarda Street in Sampaloc, Manila due to a leak repair activity, its city government said in an advisory on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Manila Public Information Office, the traffic congestion is due to a damaged water pipe in front of the San Lorenzo Ruiz Student Catholic Center.
In a Facebook post, Maynilad Water Services, Inc. said there is an ongoing leak repair activity, particularly a leak detection, in the area.
Maynilad said the eastbound lane of Legarda Street was temporarily closed to give way to the repair, while a different lane was allotted for counterflow.
The city government said that there is no estimated time yet on when the repair will be finished.
Meanwhile, residents in these barangays experience water interruption due to the damaged pipe: Barangays 383 and 384, 388, 390 to 416, 420, 430 and 431, 433 to 435, and 457 to 461.
Maynilad said mobile water tankers were already deployed in the affected barangays.
