DSWD warns public vs fake website

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) announced on Tuesday that a certain website that listed the requirements for its Assistance to individuals in crisis situations (AICS) program is fake.

The DSWD said that the website https://dswdassistance.com/aics-dswd-financial-assistance-dswd-aics-requirements is fake and unaffiliated with the department.

Aside from the AICS program, the website also lists other alleged programs of the DSWD, including educational assistance and scholarships.

“Ang nabanggit na website ay gumagamit ng identidad ng DSWD nang walang pahintulot at nanlilinlang sa publiko sa pagaakalang ito ay isang opisyal na plataporma ng ahensya,” it said.

(The website is using the identity of the DSWD with no permission and is deceiving the public into believing that this is an official platform of the agency.)

The department also told people to analyze content online and verify those that are not credible or reliable.

“Kilatising mabuti at i-verify muna ang mga nababasa. Huwag basta-basta maniwala sa mga content na hindi nanggaling sa credible at reliable source,” it added.
