Cable car system eyed in QC, Marikina, Pasig

MANILA, Philippines — A French company has presented plans for a cable car system to Quezon City Mayor Maria Josefina “Joy” Belmonte on Friday.

According to French firm POMA, a cable car system along the Marikina River, spanning Marikina City, Quezon City, and Pasig City, is feasible and possible.

“Matapos ang dalawang taong pag-aaral, nakitang posible ang cable car corridor na babaybay sa Marikina River na nasa teritoryo ng Marikina, Quezon City at Pasig City,” the Facebook page of Quezon City said.

The proposed cable car will also be connected to the Light Rail Transit 2 station in Santolan, as well as the stations of Libis and Eastwood of the proposed Metro Rail Transit 4.
