1 dead, 5 injured in Maguindanao del Sur blast
MANILA, Philippines — One person was killed, and five were injured after an explosion occurred in South Upi, Maguindanao Del Sur, on Friday, according to police.
Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) did not give further details but said that the blast hit the area of Sitio Mafran, Barangay Pilar, around midnight.
“The victims were preparing for a family occasion when suddenly the explosion occurred,” PRO-BAR said in a statement sent to reporters.

It likewise condoled with the bereaved family and assured the public that authorities would carry out an in-depth investigation for the swift identification of the assailants.
