2 Korean nationals found dead in sauna room in Batangas

LUCENA CITY — Two Korean nationals were found dead early Thursday, Dec. 7 inside the sauna room of a beach resort in Mabini town in Batangas province, police said.

In a belated report on Friday, Batangas police identified the victims as Sun Tae Kim, 67, and Yun Seok Seo, 63.

The police said the victims and another companion, Hak Neung Kim, 59, were billeted as guests in a beach resort in Barangay Mainit.

At around 3 a.m. on Thursday, the three, who were under the influence of liquor, went to the sauna room of the resort.

Two hours later, when the sauna attendants checked on them, the three were found unconscious and lying on the floor of the sauna room.

They were rushed to St. Camilus Hospital in the locality for treatment. The report said Sun and Yun died “due to suffocation.”

Hak was still confined for further treatment.

The police are conducting investigation and would subject the bodies of the two victims to autopsy or post-mortem examinations to determine the cause and manner of their deaths. INQ
