MANILA, Philippines — The appointment of Majority Leader Member of Parliament (MP) Sha Elijah Dumama-Alba as minister of the Interior and Local Government will greatly contribute to progress and development in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, three Bangsamoro parliament members said.
Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim appointed Dumama-Alba to the position on Thursday, replacing former Minister Naguib Sinarimbo.
“We are confident that her leadership will greatly contribute to the progress and development of our region. I believe in her capabilities as a lawyer, and that she can use her experience to make meaningful changes in the MILG,” MP Amir Mawalil said.
Meanwhile, MP Ras Mitmug said that her appointment is not just an acknowledgment of her capabilities, but also a “testament to her unwavering dedication” to their community.
“Her appointment as Minister of Interior and Local Government is not just an acknowledgment of her capabilities but a testament to her unwavering dedication to our community. We celebrate this milestone with her and look forward to witnessing the positive impact of her leadership,” Mitmug said.
MP Teng Ambolodto likewise said that Dumama-Alba’s experience as a lawyer and her record in public service reflect her leadership that is committed to the welfare of their constituents.
“As fellow public servants, we take pride in the appointment of MP Dumama-Alba. Her wealth of experience as a lawyer and her track record in public service reflect a leader who is not only competent but deeply committed to the welfare of our constituents,” he said.
Apart from her post, Dumama-Alba is also the vice-chair of the Statutory Committee of the Bangsamoro Justice System and the Secretariat for the Intergovernmental Relations Body.
