THE Utility Assurance Corporation (UTASSCO) kept its immaculate record intact in the Power Forty Basketball Club-2012 summer basketball tournament.
Utassco, which led fro start to finish, routed Alfa Electrical, 114-89, Tuesday night to improve to 4-0 (win-loss) at the Emilio Jaca Memorial gym in barangay Inayawan, Cebu City.
Center Alex Mercado scattered 26 points to lead Utassco, while Flor Yosores added 24 markers spiked by six trifectas. Allan Dela Rama and Mac-Mac Navares paced Alfa Electrical with a night-high 35 and 21 points. It was Alfa’s fourth straight loss.
In the other game, Park n’ Go overwhelmed Jen Jic Commandos, 112-103, for its 3rd win in four games while the latter fell to 2-4.
Park n’ Go trailed, 20-33 in the opening canto but rallied hard in the 2nd to grab a, 55-53 lead at halftime. The Breadmakers then padded their advantage after a, 34-21 run in the third for an, 89-74 lead entering the final canto where it was never seriously threatened.
Erik Abatayo and Adot Tabar led Park n’ Go with 19 points apiece while Joel Cañete paced Jen Jic Commandos with a record-high 40 points.
