MANILA, Philippines – The cremated remains of two Filipinos recently executed in China for drug-related offenses may be flown back to the Philippines by the end of the week, Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Teresita Daza said on Wednesday.

“The Philippine Consulate General in Guangzhou is working on the repatriation of cremains of the two Filipino nationals. It hopes to bring their cremains [back to the Philippines] by the end of the week,” Daza told reporters in a text message.

The execution, according to the DFA, was carried out on November 24. However, it withheld the identities of the two individuals out of respect for their privacy.
