MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) said it has confiscated 488 grams of high-grade marijuana or kush during an inspection of packages at the Port of Clark.
According to the BOC, the parcel where the marijuana was found on November 24 was declared as “replacement filter” from California, United States of America.

The package was brought to undergo X-ray screening and sniffing of K9 unit dogs, which later indicated that there were illegal drugs. When it was opened, dried leaves and fruiting tops were found.

The sample was brought to a laboratory of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, which proved that the parcel contained marijuana.
Authorities said that the marijuana had an estimated value of P805,200.
Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio said that the agency will continue to implement steps to prevent the entry of illegal drugs in the country.
“The Bureau of Customs pledges to prevent smuggling and protect the country’s borders and our citizens’ well-being against the dangers of illegal drugs,” he stated.
