Cop in QC bar shooting set to post bail — PNP

MANILA, Philippines — Lt. Col. Mark Julio Abong, the police officer who was arrested for firing his gun outside a Quezon City bar, is preparing to post a P177,000 bail, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP). 

PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo said Abong is expected to finish processing the pertinent documents concerning his bail “before the office hours end.”

“Pinoprocess na po ni Abong ang kanyang bail around P177,000 po lahat yung bail niya sa nasabing kaso kinu-kumpleto ang documents at bago matapos ang office hours we expect na makapag bail po si Lt. Col. Abong,”said Fajardo.

Abong is under his the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU), according to QCPD.

The cases against him were filed before the QC Prosecutor’s Office on November 26.

He was arrested earlier on the same day along Scout Rallos corner Scout Tobias Street in Barangay Laging Handa for assaulting a bar server and harassing one of the customers outside the establishment by firing his gun twice.
