FEO revokes licenses of 3 guns registered under beleaguered PNP exec
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police – Firearms and Explosives Office (PNP-FEO) revoked on Thursday the license to own and possess other firearms (LTOPF) of Lt. Col. Mark Julio Abong, an officer who was arrested for firing his gun outside a Quezon City bar on November 26.
Col. Jean Fajardo, PNP spokesperson, said the FEO already canceled and revoked the license and registration of the three guns Abong personally owned, including the one he used during the bar commotion recently.
“Ni-revoke at ki-nancel na po ang kanyang LTOPF, as well as yung rehistro ng kanyang baril a as a result of his latest infraction including the use of firearms,” Fajardo said.

According to Fajardo, the license of the gun he used in front of a QC bar expired in 2019, while the two others expired in 2016 and 2018.

Article continues after this advertisementCiting the Forensic Group, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) earlier said that the two gun shells recovered in front of the bar had already undergone ballistic examination, and results showed that they indeed came from Abong’s firearm.

Meanwhile, the gun Abong used during the bar commotion was taken to the PNP Crime Laboratory for examination, which will be used as evidence.
Abong was arrested for allegedly assaulting a bar server and harassing a customer by firing his gun twice. He is currently in the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, facing charges of illegal discharge of firearms and alarm and scandal, violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act concerning the Omnibus Election code.
