MANILA, Philippines — The Facebook page called “DSWD Cash Assistance” has nothing to do with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the department warned on Tuesday.

On its own Facebook page, the DSWD said in Filipino: “The Facebook page ‘DSWD Cash Assistance’ is not an official page of the department and has no connection to the department. The page is using the identity of the DSWD without permission and is spreading misleading content about the programs and services of the department, as well as other agencies.”

One of the posts on the page claims that the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) has opened scholarships for Batch 2023-2024, to which the CHEd has confirmed to be false.
