MANILA, Philippines — A blacklisted Chinese was apprehended by immigration officers at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 3, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said.

The foreigner, identified as 31-year-old Zhou Xingxing, was nabbed on November 26 while en route to Guangzhou, China.

“Zhou was found to be the subject of a January 2023 order to leave from the BI for overstaying, and working for an online gaming company with an expired Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) license,” BI said in a statement on Monday.

The Chinese was handed over to the BI’s Border Control and Intelligence Unit upon arrest, said the bureau.

He was then transferred to the Legal Division for booking procedures, it added.

Zhou will be moved to the BI Warden Facility at Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City.

BI said that he will remain in their custody after going through proper legal proceedings for his deportation.
