MANILA, Philippines – Parts of the country will still experience rains due to an intertropical convergence zone in Mindanao, while warm weather continues across Luzon due to a ridge of a high pressure area or clear skies, state weather forecasters said Thursday.
In the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s extended weather outlook, temperature in Metro Manila may rise back up to 36 degrees Celsius over the weekend.
Metro Manila cooled down a bit after a downpour on Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Wednesday, highest temperature in Metro Manila was at 35 degrees Celsius, while Tuguegarao and Cabanatuan were at 36.7 degrees Celsius.
Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening, Pagasa said.
Light to moderate winds blowing from the south to southwest will prevail over Northern Luzon and coming from the east to southeast over Visayas and the rest of Luzon becoming light easterly and variable over Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, it added.
