Naia Terminal 3 to undergo preventive electrical maintenance
MANILA, Philippines — The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 3 will experience a three-hour power interruption on Wednesday, from 12:01 a.m. to 3 a.m., for scheduled electrical maintenance activities.
The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) announced on Sunday that during the maintenance period, which was timed outside of Naia’s peak operational hours, generator sets will supply power to important equipment and facilities to ensure uninterrupted flight operations.
All critical systems like check-in counters, immigration booths, security scanners, boarding bridges, conveyor belts and other important areas will be fully operational although other parts of the terminal might experience limited disruptions, the MIAA said.
Bryan Co, officer in charge of MIAA, apologized for any inconvenience to be brought about by the preventive maintenance activity but stressed that flight operations would remain uninterrupted.
‘Electrical system reliability’
“We assure the public that this scheduled electrical upgrading and maintenance is a vital step toward enhancing the airport’s electrical system reliability,” he said.
