MANILA, Philippines — Overcast skies and scattered rain showers are expected in most parts of Luzon, while generally fair weather will prevail over the rest of the country on Sunday, the state weather bureau said.
According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, as well as the shear line, and easterlies continue to bring scattered rain showers in Luzon.
“Makakaranas tayo na maulap na kalangitan na may tsansa na kalat kalat na pagulan at thunderstorms sa Cagayan Valley sa lalawigan ng Apayao sa Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur at ganun din po sa Oriental Mindoro at Catanduanes,” weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said in a morning forecast.

(Cloudy skies with chances of scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail today in Cagayan, particularly in Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and also in Oriental Mindoro, and Catanduanes.)
The rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will experience generally fair weather, with chances of isolated rain showers and localized thunderstorms.
Similar weather is expected in Visayas and Mindanao for the rest of the day.
Gale warning had been raised in the seaboards of Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands, and Isabela due to amihan.
