LUCENA CITY – Two foreign nationals were shot and killed on Saturday, November 25, in two separate incidents in Laguna and Rizal provinces, police said.

In a report Sunday, November 26, the Region 4A police said Taiwanese Hsien Chang, 63, was standing at the receiving area of a restaurant in San Pablo City, Laguna at around 7:20 a.m. when a male pretending to deliver liquified petroleum gas suddenly shot him with a handgun.

The victim, a holder of a “special resident retirees visa,” died from a gunshot wound on his right cheek while being taken to a local hospital.

The killer escaped after the shooting.

In Taytay, Rizal, money lender Singh Gurdev, an Indian national, was shot dead while collecting debts at the old public market at around 6:45 p.m.

Police said the gunman appeared from behind and fired at the victim. The assailant fled after the shooting and left his target dead on the spot.

Authorities in San Pablo City and Taytay are conducting further investigations to establish the motive behind the killings.

Police alsl launched manhunt operations to arrest the assailants.
