Julaton hopes to rebound as she battles Segura May 5

ANA “The Hurricane” Julaton will try to bounce back from her world title loss last March when she battles Yolanda “La Negra” Segura of Mexico on May 5 (Philippine Time) in a ten round non-title bout at the Arena Periférico in Kanasin, Yucatán, Mexico.

Julaton (10W-3L-1D, 1 KO) lost her WBO female superbantamweight title by unanimous decision to Yessica Marcos in Argentina in her last bout. This fight against Segura will be Julaton’s second appearance in Mexico. Last Sept. 30, 2011, she successfully defended her title against Mexican Jessica Villafranca in a fight also held in Yucatan.

Segura (8W-3L, 7 KOs) has stopped her last three opponents in two rounds or less.

Julaton’s Promoter, Allan Tremblay of Orion Sports Management has stated in a press release that they are planning for another world title bout for Julaton this year and that they would like that contest to take place in the Philippines. /Correspondent Rene Bonsubre Jr.
