Manila, Philippines — Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail in Metro Manila due to the northeast monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported on Saturday.

Pagasa said the same weather conditions are likewise expected in Central Luzon, Ilocos Region, Cavite, Batangas, and Rizal.

The northeast monsoon will also bring cloudy skies with light rains in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Aurora, the weather bureau noted.

Quezon, Laguna, and the Bicol Region, on the other hand, will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line, which is the convergence of cold and warm winds.

As for the rest of the country, the weather bureau said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will persist because of the easterlies or the localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Pagasa said there are cloud clusters around Southern Mindanao that will bring rain in the area, particularly in Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-tawi, and in southern portion of Palawan.

The weather bureau also said the cloud clusters are not expected to develop into a low pressure area (LPA) nor tropical depression will likely be observed inside and outside the Philippine area of responsibility in the next few days.

“As early this morning, mayroon ding mga kaulapan dito sa may Southern Mindanao area, ngunit itong mga kaulapan na ito ay hindi naman natin nakikita na may possibility na maging low pressure area,” weather specialist Patrick Del Mundo said in their morning weather forecast.

(As early this morning, there are also cloud clusters in the Southern Mindanao area, but these clouds do not seem to have the possibility of developing into a low-pressure area.)

“Kaya naman sa mga susunod na mga araw, mababa pa rin ang tyansa na magkaroon tayo ng LPA o ng bagyo sa loob at labas ng ating Philippine area of responsibility,” he added.

(In the following days, chances of having a low-pressure area or a tropical depression within and outside our Philippine area of responsibility remain low.)

Sailing in the seaboards of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Batanes, Isabela, and Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands shall be avoided, Pagasa said.

The agency raised a gale warning in these areas as rough seas are expected there due to the northeast monsoon.

Sailors in the rest of Luzon were also advised to take precautionary measures as moderate to rough seas are expected in the area.
