Manila, Philippines — Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail in Metro Manila due to the northeast monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported on Saturday.

Pagasa said the same weather conditions are likewise expected in Central Luzon, Ilocos Region, Cavite, Batangas, and Rizal.

The northeast monsoon will also bring cloudy skies with light rains in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Aurora, the weather bureau noted.

Quezon, Laguna, and the Bicol Region, on the other hand, will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line, which is the convergence of cold and warm winds.

As for the rest of the country, the weather bureau said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will persist because of the easterlies or the localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Pagasa said there are cloud clusters around Southern Mindanao that will bring rain in the area, particularly in Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-tawi, and in southern portion of Palawan.

The weather bureau also said the cloud clusters are not expected to develop into a low pressure area (LPA) nor tropical depression will likely be observed inside and outside the Philippine area of responsibility in the next few days.

(As early this morning, there are also cloud clusters in the Southern Mindanao area, but these clouds do not seem to have the possibility of developing into a low-pressure area.)
